Frequently Asked Questions
01. How often should my carpet be cleaned?
Most manufacturers will recommend having your carpets professionally cleaned at least once every 12 months. But that number does depend on some different use factors, such as traffic, frequency of vacuuming, having pets and/or children and whether the carpet is light or dark. Stain protecting (also known as scotch guarding) also makes a difference in how often you have to clean your carpets. A majority of our clients prefer to have their carpets cleaned twice a year.
02. What should I do to prepare my home for carpet cleaning?
Any small items on the carpet, such as shoes, toys and newspapers, should be picked up before we arrive. Also, it is recommended that you vacuum if there is any noticeable debris on your carpet. We suggest that you clear your furniture of any breakables on them; such as picture frames, glass decorations or lamps. Beds, dressers, entertainment systems, china hutches, pianos, and other heavier pieces are usually left in place.
03. How long will it take my carpet to dry?
There are many factors that can affect the drying time of your carpet. Carpet material and type, humidity and air flow are all examples of these factors. Your carpet can take from 12 to 24 hours to be completely dry, however majority of carpets are dry within 3 to 6 hours. If necessary, you can walk on your carpet right away, but try to avoid it as much as possible right after cleaning. It is best to avoid heavy traffic on the carpet during the drying process. Also, try to keep your pets off of the carpet while it is drying. Some carpets may feel slightly damp for up to 18 hours depending on the carpet and soil conditions. This is normal and will not cause any problems. You should wait 24 hours before removing any foam blocks or protective barriers that our technicians have placed under your furniture to protect the carpet.
